Financial Analyst

Investment Strategy & Research: Generate high-conviction investment ideas, conduct in-depth market research, and apply quantitative techniques to support critical investment decisions.
Financial Modelling: Design, build, and audit complex dynamic financial models, ensuring model integrity, flexibility, and precision.
Analytical Expertise: Utilize strong expertise in fundamental analysis, deep sector knowledge, and data-driven methods to inform all modelling and research efforts.
This role requires a candidate who can effectively balance deep accounting knowledge with advanced technical skills.
Financial Modelling & Strategy Testing
Model Development: Build and maintain financial models for individual stocks, sectors, and asset classes.
Scenario Analysis: Assess the impact of different macroeconomic and company-specific events on investment outcomes.
Backtesting & Forward Testing: Evaluate historical and live data to test investment hypotheses and refine strategies.
Risk & Sensitivity Analysis: Analyse key risk factors and stress test investment models under different market conditions.
Portfolio Construction: Contribute to portfolio allocation decisions by optimising risk-adjusted returns across multiple investments.
Performance Attribution: Track and dissect investment performance, identifying key drivers of alpha and areas for improvement.
Valuation Frameworks: Build automated DCF (Discounted Cash Flow), LBO (Leveraged Buyout), and SOTP (Sum of the Parts) models.
Transaction Modelling: Develop accretion/dilution and merger models to evaluate the financial impact of potential acquisitions.
Market Research & Investment Idea Generation
Financial Modelling: Build and maintain financial models to support investment analysis and decision making
Sector & Asset Class Research: Conduct in-depth analysis of various sectors, industries, and asset classes to identify high-potential investment opportunities.
Idea Generation: Develop, refine, and present compelling investment theses supported by rigorous data analysis.
Macroeconomic Analysis: Monitor economic indicators, central bank policies, and geopolitical events to understand their impact on asset prices.
Competitive Analysis: Evaluate companies within an industry, assessing their business models, competitive positioning, and long-term viability.
Valuation & Price Targeting: Perform discounted cash flow (DCF), comparative, and other valuation techniques to determine fair value and upside potential.
Thematic Investing: Identify and track emerging trends (e.g., AI, sustainability, new tech) to develop forward-looking investment strategies.
Data Collection, Management & Market Intelligence
Data Gathering: Source, clean, and organise large datasets from Bloomberg, FactSet, financial filings, and alternative data sources.
Data Integrity: Ensure data accuracy by cross-referencing multiple sources and addressing inconsistencies.
Trend Monitoring: Continuously track sector-specific trends, news, and financial reports to maintain updated investment views.
Market Sentiment Analysis: Leverage news sentiment, options flow, and other indicators to gauge market positioning and sentiment.
Quantitative Research: Apply statistical techniques and factor analysis to improve investment screening and selection.
Advanced financial modelling and data manipulation skills
Exceptional attention to detail with strong problem-solving capabilities
Use of Artificial Intelligence tools
Ability to excel in fast-paced environments
Strong analytical skills and expertise in interpreting financial statements
Experience handling and analyzing accurate financial reports
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team
Understanding of financial markets, products and market microstructure.
Knowledge of risk assessment methods and portfolio management concepts
Expertise in IFRS and GAAP financial reporting standards
1 - 2 years experience working in Finance
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
Professional certifications such as CFA , ICAN or ACCA are an advantage
